Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"3rd time eating in, and made to feel like royalty again!! Absolutely the best, friendly and attentive service, and the most beautiful food We always come with extra tweaks and requests, (make it hotter/take out the veg for the son/add sauce to a dry tandoori dish etc!) depending on who comes with us, but it is never too much effort for these wonderful people. Everything here is just brilliant, and we will be back again very soon. Thank you, as always, for your wonderful hospitality xxx"
"Perfect stop off on our way to Wales from Hampshire! I so wish this place was closer. It’s got great comfort food and a cosy vibe. I love all the plant decor. We went twice (On the way to and from wales!) so we had a good sample. We wish we’d tried the roast as it looked so good!! Great pub food and wonderful that it’s all vegan!"
"I went for the garlic chilli chicken with pilau rice and sag paneer - I was not disappointed. The chicken was sliced and cooked perfectly and the balance of cheese with fresh spinach was perfect. A lovely meal and great service. I would reccomend and will be returning when I’m next in the area. (Picture does not do it justice as I piled on the sides into the main dish not very elegantly)"
"Table booked 2 days ago, loved the food so much that we ordered a take away tonight!! Exceptional food, best Indian locally. Only downside is that it is incredibly busy in the restaurant on weekends, the tables are too close together and you can’t have a conversation without having to shout! However would happily eat in on a weekday as much quieter. Lovely friendly staff always a bonus."
"Had a lovely plant-based meal here (14/07/24). A good variety of choices. We had starters, mains and desserts and everything was delicious. There's a large outdoor seating area that is very nicely landscaped and welcoming. Highly recommend!"
"Ordered a takeaway online for collection and took advantage of the 20% off offer that is currently running, which took a fair bit off the bill. Food was ready in 30 mins and was delicious! Portion sizes were generous will definitely order again! There appeared to be a nice, warm and friendly atmosphere inside the restaurant, although I didn’t stay and eat in. I would definitely order again!"
"What a night! Great food (Special event so fixed menu but could add more, which we did) attentive friendly staff, very nice selection of beers including local varieties (Burj lager v drinkable). Elvis was in the building and sang two sets very well with decent patter in between and good mixing with the crowd. Had a good dance in between the tables at the end of the evening too which was brilliant. Highly recommended for just food or also when they are putting on an event. This is a traditional village pub plus Indian restaurant seamlessly merged plus a bit of pizzazz. Good for a group, family of all ages or just a couple."
"We ordered a takeaway rather than sitting in. The ordering was very straight forward and the collection was easy too. Delicious food- we were all very happy. We had Onion Bhaji, vegetable samosa to share. For mains we had: butter chicken, Paneer Butter Masala and Saag Dall mushroom. Good portion size and the spice level was as described. We also enjoyed the egg fried rice and angarlic and a cheese naan bread! A feast indeed! The food was so great that we forgot to take photos- too keen to eat it and there were no leftovers!"
